Sanitary Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory

The Sanitary Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory is located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and has 80 m²2 of usable floor area.

The laboratory has the following equipment:

  • flow meter,
  • tilting flume (channel with variable slope),
  • pump units,
  • spectrophotometer – Specol 21,
  • Orsat–Fischer apparatus KY-3,
  • annealing/muffle furnace,
  • water distillation apparatus,
  • water bath,
  • calorimeter,
  • analytical balances,
  • fume hood,
  • pressure gauges and transducers,
  • mobile equipment for water quality analysis
  • and other equipment.

The laboratory has a large number of test tubes of various types and sizes.
The laboratory is equipped with a central ceramic table, laboratory tables of 3×3 m and 2×2 m, and an appropriate number of display cabinets and laboratory chairs.
The laboratory has a separate system for supplying water at a higher flow rate and pressure, and is also connected to the city water supply network.

A pressure sand filter with devices for measuring pressure and flow is installed in the laboratory for hydraulic analysis of filter materials.
Research on pressure filters and automatic gravity sand filters has been carried out in the laboratory. Physico-chemical analysis of raw water and other analyses are performed.
