Geodesy Laboratory

The Geodesy Laboratory was established in 1948, together with the start of geodesy lectures for the students of the then Technical Faculty. At first, the laboratory contained a few of the oldest theodolite constructions, received from the state geodetic institutions of post-war Yugoslavia.
The geodetic laboratory was gradually enriched with new types of geodetic instruments and accessories after the geodesy lectures were taken over by Prof. Dr. Dime Lazarov. The first laboratory technician, the surveyor Gjorgji Nastov, was appointed at that time and, under Prof. Lazarov's guidance, contributed to the development of the laboratory and its elevation to a higher level.
The continuous enrichment of the geodetic laboratory with newer and more modern geodetic instruments meant that, in the 1980s, it was considered the best-equipped laboratory on the Balkan Peninsula.
