class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the past period, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has continuously expanded, improved and enriched its activities, adapting to global trends and standards, as well as to the needs of the economy and the community. The curricula and programmes for civil engineering studies have been constantly refined in line with the progress of science and technology and, on the other hand, in line with the changes taking place in our society and the needs of the construction industry. The systems of study and the teaching methods have been changed and improved several times. Thanks to such a policy, graduate engineers from this Faculty have proven to be well-qualified professionals and are well accepted not only in our country but also worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding teaching, from the academic year 2004\/05, based on the decision of the 308th session of the Teaching and Scientific Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering held on 9 March 2004, the university (academic) undergraduate studies in civil engineering in the three tracks (structural, hydraulic engineering, and roads and railways) were reformed in line with the criteria prescribed by ECTS according to the 4+1+3 model (4 years of undergraduate studies + 1 year of postgraduate studies + 3 years of doctoral studies). The study programme documentation was adopted by Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, as well as by the Accreditation Board of North Macedonia. This means that, in the past period, the civil engineering study programme delivered first-cycle studies, i.e. academic undergraduate studies in civil engineering lasting four years, with a workload of 240 credits in accordance with the Bologna Declaration and ECTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from these aspects, and given that most civil engineering faculties in Europe have moved to a 3+2+3 system of study (three years for the first cycle, two for the second and three for the third), the Teaching and Scientific Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, at its 380th session and on the basis of prior detailed analyses, decided to innovate teaching according to the 3+2 study concept.&nbsp;<strong>3+2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a programme designed to provide an environment for educating students by meeting the following basic goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An explicitly formed structure of studies,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Formation of courses and teaching subject areas,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full alignment of courses and subject areas with the neighbouring universities in North Macedonia, in the Balkans and in Europe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building staff capacity in subject areas related to civil engineering across the three main branches: structural engineering, hydraulic engineering, and engineering for roads and railways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training of the existing staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobility of teaching staff with partner universities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobility of students with partner universities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishment of an information centre<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintenance and development of the existing laboratories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintenance and development of a library with a rich collection of books, with titles closely related to the field of study.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p
