The Student Parliament of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University \u2013 SPUKM is an association of citizens of an autonomous, non-governmental and non-partisan character, formed for the free association of students regardless of their national, religious and gender affiliation and their political beliefs. The work of the Student Parliament at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University is public. Transparency in its work is ensured by regularly informing the members of the University Student Parliament about all forms of activity, by providing insight into the implementation of programme tasks, and by submitting reports on the work of the organs and bodies of the University Student Parliament and on its material and financial operations.
Brief history:<\/strong> It was founded long ago, in 1949, as the Union of Students at the University of Skopje. During its existence the organisation changed its name several times until, in 1991, when Macedonia became an independent state, it became the Union of Students at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University \u2013 Skopje (SSUKM). In 2008 the Union of Students was renamed the Student Parliament (SPUKM) in order to achieve democratic, free, multiple and active participation of students who will be able to realise their rights, ideas, interests and aspirations through this non-governmental organisation. The renaming from SSUKM to SPUKM was not only a change of the organisation's name, but a complete change of the concept of work, both statutory and practical. Members of SPUKM are all full-time and part-time students enrolled in first-, second- and third-cycle studies at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
