Award for outstanding student work in the field of engineering simulation<\/p>\n

The NAFEMS Eastern Europe Student Award recognises exceptional achievements in the field of engineering simulation among mechanical engineering students across the\u00a0Eastern Europe region<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This prestigious award invites mechanical engineering students to showcase their innovative use of simulation technologies such as Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computational Electromagnetics, System Simulation and other numerical techniques used in mechanical engineering applications. By participating, students gain the opportunity to have their work evaluated by experts, receive valuable feedback, and compete for recognition at an international level.<\/p>\n

S<\/b>\u200b<\/b>ubmission deadline: 30th of September 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n

P<\/b>\u200b<\/b>rize<\/b><\/p>\n

T\u200bhe winner will receive 1000 EUR and an invite to the NAFEMS Eastern Europe Regional Conference in 2026 with the registration, travel and accommodation costs covered.<\/p>\n

Rules and regulations<\/b><\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The nomination is open to mechanical engineering students who submit and defend their Bachelor or Master Thesis between 30.09.2024 and 30.09.2025.<\/li>\n
  2. Students studying at Universities in the\u00a0NAFEMS Eastern Europe Region\u00a0<\/a>(Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary,\u00a0North-Macedonia<\/b>, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) can submit their work.<\/li>\n
  3. The submitted work has to be an already submitted and defended Bachelor or Master thesis.<\/li>\n
  4. Theses written in English and in the official langauges of the countries listed in Point 2 are eligible for submission<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Rules<\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. The submitted work must contain a considerable extent use numerical simulation technologies in the field of mechanical engineering. Criteria for the assessment of the work are, among other aspects; the degree of novelty in the approach, quality and care of the documentation of the work, the significance and value of the project, etc..<\/li>\n
    2. The nominee must be able to communicate with the committee in English, and may be required to attend an online interview.<\/li>\n
    3. T\u200bhe work of the nominee will be primarily judged based on the uploaded Thesis (PDF) and English language Extended Abstract (PDF).<\/li>\n
    4. S\u200bigned consent is to be uploaded from the university supervisor, that the project is not confidential, and the student has the University’s and the industrial partner’s support to enter into the competition.<\/li>\n
    5. The decision related to the winner will be made by the\u00a0members of the NAFEMS Eastern Europe Steering Committee<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
