Career Center
The Career Center at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Skopje was established in accordance with Article 86 of the Law on Higher Education. The main goal of the Career Center is to help prospective and current students plan their career development. The Career Center carries out its task through a number of activities (in accordance with:
- organises internships and students' first access to the labour market and networking;
- organises workshops on career counselling and the development of behavioural skills;
- develops a marketing plan for promoting the Faculty and its graduates to companies and carries out networking;
- develops a system for establishing an Alumni Association of the Faculty and keeps records of former students (alumni);
- helps students obtain information on career planning, career development, professional training and career counselling;
- organises Open Days at the Faculty in order to acquaint prospective students with the study opportunities at the Faculty;
As part of its career counselling services, the Center trains students to improve their communication and presentation skills so as to present themselves successfully at job interviews, and provides practical assistance to applicants in preparing a portfolio of their skills and work experience.
The Center maintains contacts and provides information on projects, programmes, competitions and other initiatives with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, the Employment Service Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia and the regional employment offices, as well as other ministries and institutions.
Students and alumni of the University have the opportunity to volunteer at the Center. Volunteering is carried out in accordance with the needs of the Center and may last up to 3 months during the academic year. Student volunteers receive a certificate for the volunteering completed.
